Project Title: Development of Shell & Tube Heat Exchanger
The first project to elaborate my experience is the Development of Shell & Tube Heat Exchanger that I did as part of the academic studies at University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, Pakistan. I did the project between September 2010 to December 2010 while undertaking the Bachelor Degree in Mechanical engineering under the supervision of Prof. Fiaz Hussain Shah. The location where I delivered this project was Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan within Department of Mechanical engineering at University of Engineering and Technology
Roles and Responsibilities
- Carry out an extensive literature review to understand the working of the shell tube heat exchanger
- Organise and coordinate the team activities so as to meet the set project timelines
- Join up with the team up members in developing the initial design and final design of the STHE
- Carry out simulation to achieve optimum design, stress analysis, assembly, installation and testing
- Documenting the project phases in a project report

Project Title. Cooling Load Estimation and Suitable HVAC System Selection
My next project is the Cooling Load Estimation and selection of the Suitable HVAC System. I did this project when I was studying when I was doing the Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering at University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, Pakistan between January 2011 and May 2011.This was part of the course work project thus I was supervised by Associate Professor Mr. Muhammad Asif Aslam. The venue of this project was University of Engineering and Technology, Mechanical Engineering department in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Meet the group members in developing the project guidelines, arrange meetings with the industry personnel to understand their requirement on the HVAC system.
- Conduct site analysis, review the condition of the existing HVAC system and obtain all the essential data required.
- Develop conceptual and final design including carrying out calculations of cooling and heating loads.
- Work with collaboration the company staff in installation of new components and upgrading the existing HVAC system.
- Document the whole process and submitting the final project report for evaluation
- Presentation of the project to evaluating committee and to the clients

Project Title: Improvement and optimization of the efficiency of combined cycle power plant and utilization of energy from the heat losses
My third project to discuss is the Improvement and optimization of the efficiency of combined cycle power plant and utilization of energy from the heat losses. This was my final year project while studying for the Bachelor Degree in Mechanical engineering at University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, Pakistan. The delivery time of the project was between August 2011 to December 2011.The venue where I handled this project was Department of Mechanical engineering, within the university located at Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. I worked under the guidance of the SIR EJAZ MAHMOOD SHAHID and my duty to implement the project and present a report to the faculty.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Carry out state of art literature review to fully understand the working of the plant equipment.
- Develop analytical formulation for calculation of the plant efficiency
- Developing a model of the power plant for simulation and analysis
- Conducting high velocity impact test for validation of predictions
- Coordinate with plant technicians in implementations of the findings to improve efficiency of the plant
