Essential Core ICT Area of Knowledge: [Enter topic and 2 subtopic names relating to the chosen area]
Ethics

During the implementation of all my responsibilities as senior consultant I ensured that all the tasks that I implement are backed out and based on the principles of ethical consulting. I developed a certain set of ethical principles which defined optimum ethical behaviour and through these ethical principles I was better able to guide all the other consultants towards the specific behaviours. I also documented the developed ethical principles as an extensive code of ethics. I ensured that my team of consultant comprised of the optimum ability of the recognition of ethical dilemmas along with making use of the respective tools for properly addressing and resolving all kinds of ethical conflicts and dilemmas. During my work as a senior consultant I made sure that my working and provision of relative consultancy facilities and services that are both fair and just and lead to the minimization of all liabilities. Through the development of the ethical code of conduct I was able to accurately refine the values that had been preferred as well as the specific behaviours. I followed different ethical principles and guidelines and practiced them in my every day work. These regulations included avoiding and minimizing all kinds of harm to the respective clients, the privatization of the information and ensuring the confidentiality of project information, the avoidance of dependence, anticipating any conflict or ethical dilemma that could arise and working towards the minimization of the conflicts of interest. Along with this I also ensured that I do not work in the capacity of an advocate for the respective clients followed by avoidance of the discovery of consulting and providing optimum expertise.

Communication

During the conduction of my role as a senior consultant I was given the responsibility of leading the operations of different technical teams in the project along with establishing an effective workplace environment that is based on the principles and rules of optimum communication. This included the leading and regulation of different meetings and presentations in which I provided the requisite project steps that were needed to be followed along with the overall progress of the project which involved the output that was acquired from different teams. Moreover, I helped the team to accurately develop suite for the complete automation of the creation of data which included CAP applications. For establishing of optimum communication principles, I was involved in the coordination of the whole team of the project and shared their relevant project progress status to the relevant clients on a daily as well as weekly basis. Along with the implementation of the technical tasks I also carried out the responsibility of developing optimum interaction with the specific clients of the project in multiple locations and also actively participated in the defect triage meeting with both the development team as well as the stack holders. During the regular discussions with the people who were involved in the project along with the clients I identified and also deployed the improvements related to the process along with the standards related to the key practices in the setup of the requisite test environment as well as the execution of the test. Since the project was a cross vendor one, I was actively involved in considerable interactions with various internal as well as external stakeholders. Along with this I also interacted with business analyst along with the development associates in order to obtain the accurate technical details of the new releases and builds for various applications. I was also responsible for the creation of documents to describe the developed programming and coding logic. I prepared and finalised the test closure report for each production release. I also provided reports to stakeholders on a day to day basis with the percentage of progress in each phase of the project.

Security Management

My work as a senior consultant, along with the implementation of technical tasks related to the project, also involved working towards ensuring that the security of the workplace as well as the project infrastructure is in accordance with the specified goals and mission of the project. I developed and incorporated the requisite safeguards in order to provide optimum level of protection for the assets of the organization, the involved people as well as the organizational property. My main objective in the development of the relevant security management principles and guidelines was the provision of the requisite professional staff that has the relevant expertise in the field of security so the extension services of the relevant security department. I developed an efficient security management team that consisted of highly efficient and professional staff members with the relevant expertise and experience to efficiently cover and manage all the elements of security in the workplace environment.

Project Management

During my work as a senior consultant for Wipro Technologies I successfully managed the different work teams that were involved along with conducting various tasks that had been specified. I prepared development and test strategy through effective research and analysis of the requirements of the business that had been pre-defined. I employed by hands on experience in Talend for the Big Data, shell scripting along with the Python and other relevant databases. I developed and then tested the Talend DI jobs which were used to load the Salesforce objects. I was skilled in different number of tools which included Service Now which comprised of the tracking tool of the production incidents as well as JIRA which I also incorporated in the methodology of the project. Along with this I was involved in the estimation of the requisite effort for the processes of development as well as other testing activities throughout the specific phases of the project. I also defined the key deliverables at the end of each phase. I was also in charge of the creation of the complex level SQL queries which were based on the ETL requirements while also ensuring the matches of the dataset in accordance with the results that were expected. I ensured the deliverables related to quality through the implementation of the effective review processes. I provided regular status and highlighted the issues to both AMP and Wipro leaders on a daily basis. I planned and then developed a cohesive infrastructure of the project strategy which included development and testing for the specific migration project through proper research and analysis of the relevant requirements of the business that had already been defined.

During all of the above major activities, I followed the PMP rules for managing my work effectively. Therefore, I made sure to handle the task through proper planning and making strategy. While handling any issue, I have adopted the fish bone analysis which helped me in managing the difficulties in the project. I arranged for daily defect triage meetings with respective application teams, worked towards prioritization, align to fixes schedule and continuously plan on retests, with continuous feedback and updates to the program leadership (weekly dashboard). After System testing, once SIT test cycles commenced, as part of the daily defect triage meetings I worked alongside the Program test director and other Test Managers/TPLs working on the program to understand the daily progress from all applications in scope for the program, open issues to be addressed. After the meeting, I prioritized daily tasks for testing across on-shore and offshore resources.

  • Describe any design or problem-solving methods you used on this project.

 Test coverage was an everlasting technical risk for software systems. This project development has several important factors that directly related to the software behaviour, like operating system version. Also, each factor has several or even infinite possibilities. So, testing all the possibilities (which was actually a multi-dimension matrix of these factors) was not easy. To improve test coverage with the same resources consumed, I applied QTP in my plan to generate a list of combination of all these factors. This list was a small portion of all possibilities, but it could still confirm good enough test coverage. Thus, the needed test effort was dramatically reduced, and the risk of incomplete test coverage was controlled. To reduce the failure chance of key software components, I applied some technologies like;

·         Assign senior members on them

·         Strict code change process, like peer review, or group discussion

·         Back-to-back test

  • List the major deliverables of the project that you were responsible for or contributed to.

Following are the major deliverables which I have executed at the time;

·         Developing code and implementation

·         Testing

·         Training document

  1. Results

  • Was your solution implemented? If so, describe the role, if any, you had in the implementation.

Yes, my solution was implemented related to developing a testing strategy. As I was responsible for testing, I worked out on the test plans after intensive discussions with various teams. I updated the test plan according to the latest marketing requirements and project progress. I also gave instructions and suggestions to junior members, so that high priority jobs got enough human and hardware resources. I coordinated with each member and regularly monitored that work to avoid any unexpected error. I was fully responsible for test design of all the products and test execution of IBM. I was also responsible for preparing the user training document. I made sure that the proper solution was implemented to any issue happened at that time.
  • Assess the overall success or failure of the project.

The project was successful and completed on time meeting all the basic requirements of the projects. The client was happy as all the targets were achieved within the time frame. Also, there was a great improvement in the processing time and we were also able to reduce the errors faced during the project.

  • Describe any design or problem-solving methods you used on this project.

After the initial engagement and discussions with the Program team on the scope of the program, I created the Master Test plan for each application aligned to overall Test strategy and test timelines of NZS migration program. I had responsibilities to deliver the Test phases of System testing, System Integration testing, Progression and Targeted regression testing, Automation Regression testing and Install and Backout testing. I also worked with other Test Leads of other applications and coordinated towards ETE UAT testing which was planned on the final build for all the applications in scope.

I owned the Master and Detailed test Plans for the applications. I arranged for walkthrough and review sessions with the stakeholders including risk team for their acceptance. Risk team approval was crucial considering masking of the production customer data in the test environments was required. I had to arrange for 5 rounds of review sessions to secure approvals from all the stakeholders.

With continuous focus on Test Strategy, I had created and maintained respective project test RAIDS (risks, assumptions, impact, dependencies & solutions). I provided Ballpoint estimates with a variance of 40% when the projects were initiated. Once the requirements specifications were finalized, I worked with the respective test leads to collate the individual test estimates (for System and System Integration Testing), added test planning efforts and shared with the project for approval and acceptance

  • List the major deliverables of the project that you were responsible for or contributed to.

My major deliverables in this project include;

I worked with individual Application Test leads to review the Test scenarios and test cases created and mapped back to individual requirements. I published the overall test coverage report to the management and stakeholders for their approval to lock down on the test preparation. Worked with the Automation test team to finalize the Automation test plan and closely worked with Automation team to get Automation regression suite. I also played a significant role in delivering the clear understanding about the project to the stakeholders. I was responsible for gathering the test data. Also, during the time, I have developed the user case for the flow of business & user manuals for facilitating the business.

  • Assess the overall success or failure of the project.

I have successfully executed each task completing my all main targets. The project involved various testing and analysis phases and through the proper management of the project we were able to meet the project required targets and standards.
  • Lessons Learned

In retrospect, what you might have done differently on this project?

I worked alongside UAT test Manager and Business for Production verification test planning. During production pilot testing which was planned for 2 weeks before the planned go-live, I coordinated to get testing done for any incidents before the fix could be migrated to production. Also, I improved a lot by undertaking this project as it provided me an opportunity to improve and further groom in my work. I learned different technicalities by practically working on the testing phase.
