Meet The RPEQ Registration Requirements
1.) Engineering Qualification:
Candidates must have a four-year Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree from a recognised university that is a signatory to the Washington Accord. If their qualification is from a non-accredited country, they need to have their skills assessed by an assessment entity such as Engineers Australia to demonstrate equivalence.
2.) Professional Experience:
They must carry out four to five years of postgraduate engineering work experience. Such engineering experience best reflects their professional responsibilities and their ability to work independently.
3.) Continuing Professional Development (CPD):
To remain eligible for registration, it is critical to maintain and enhance their knowledge and skills. So, candidates must have completed at least 150 hours of structured CPD over three years, leading up to the restoration and renewal of their registration. This must include:
- A minimum of 75% (112.5 hours) of the 150 hours as technical CPD
- A maximum of 25% (37.5 hours) of the 150 hours of non-technical CPD
- A minimum of 1 hour of non-technical CPD covering ethics
- A minimum of 1 hour of non-technical CPD covering risk management
Get Assessed By An Approved Assessment Entity (AEE)

1.) Assessment Process:
